Because of Mark's desertion of Paul and Barnabas and his abandonment of the good work laid before him, we never get to see what great things Paul was prepared to build into him. Thankfully, Timothy (& Titus and others) "put their hands to the plow and didn't look back" and so were able to receive greatly from Paul the apostle. You and I can learn much by watching these relationships and modeling our lives after them.
