Since the launch of The Rock in April 2000, our Mission Statement has been, "Building Solid Lives" based on Luke 6:47-48. It means we disciple people by helping them 1) Come to Jesus, 2) Hear His words, and 3) Do them. And it's been very effective. Since 2003 over 12,000 people have graduated at least one level of Operation Solid Lives on Rock Campuses. However, in the last two years God has begun highlighting that Jesus' Great Commission is not, "Tell people to come be discipled," but rather, "Go make disciples." As much as we like our campuses, the overwhelming majority of people who need to be discipled do not come to them (or any church), nor will they come. And that's why Jesus is saying once again, "GO make disciples!"
Our New Mission Statement is, "Everyone Builds Solid Lives." It means, "Everyone Disciples People." Rather than inviting everyone to a church campus for a few people to disciple them, Jesus is sending all of us to various fields to find people who are ready to be discipled, and to disciple them. This will happen in homes, businesses, conference and meeting rooms, school classrooms, restaurants, etc.
